1
- What
mobile phone brands, models and types are compatible with BatMax
?
BatMax
works well with any mobile phone, brand, model, type
of battery and cellular network (GSM, CDMA,...) or technology (Analog
or digital).
The product has been evaluated and documented by several universities,
independent laboratories, technology web sites and professionals.
BatMax
has been tested with different mobile phone brands and type of batteries:
Li-Ion, Li-Po, Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh.
2
- How do I install BatMax
in my mobile phone ?
•
Turn off the mobile phone.
• Open the battery compartment.
• Remove the battery.
• Just install BatMax
inside the battery compartment, without removing the protective film.
• The active
side (white with the BatMax
logo) must face the battery,
as shown on the installation figure and photo (Installation
Page).
If BatMax is reversed, the effect on the battery will not be active.
For greater efficiency, place BatMax
- if possible - between the battery and the handset.
•
Re-install
the battery into the mobile phone, close the battery compartment and
turn on the mobile phone.
• Several charging-discharging
cycles (5-10) are necessary to obtain optimal battery life improvement.
IMPORTANT
Please ensure that the electrical contacts of
the battery or the mobile phone are not covered.
3
- What
are the BatMax's
undesirable effects ?
There
is no undesirable effect. BatMax
is
totally safe for the user, the mobile phone and the battery.
There is no effect on the cellular signal and reception.
4
- What amount of BatMax's
surface
must be in contact with the battery ?
To
obtain a good performance (Battery life and charging speed), BatMax's
material must face the battery or be in direct contact
with the battery. The more surface is in contact
with the battery, the more battery life improvement
is possible. Normally, 60 to 80% is a good amount
of coverage to obtain an optimal performance.
5
- What
happens if I install 2 BatMax
to add performance, 1 on each side of the battery or superimposed
?
The
battery life is increased but by a very small factor. You just need
one BatMax
to
have an efficient battery life improvement and good results.
6
- Why don't the battery manufacturers include BatMax's
technology in their products ?
Because,
at the moment, the integration process and material costs can adversely
affect the consumer price, but discussions with mobile phone, computer
and battery manufacturers are in process. Actually, several manufacturers
and cellular operators are planning to distribute BatMax
as a branded accessory.
7
- BatMax
is not adapted to my mobile phone battery size, what can I do ?
BatMax
size can be reduced (with scissors) to adapt the size to the available
surface, if necessary.
But keep the maximum surface covered (60-80%) to have maximum battery
life improvement.
8
- Can I use BatMax
with a fresh new battery ?
Yes,
the battery will be able to maintain its full capacity and battery
life for a longer time. The ideal case is to use BatMax
with a 3-6 month old (or older) battery. In this situation, you
will notice a more visible battery life improvement.
9
- Is
BatMax
able to fix or repair defective or dead batteries ?
No, the battery’s internal chemical process
cannot be re-activated. Never use or install BatMax
with a defective battery.
Very old batteries can be slightly re-activated using BatMax,
but it is rare.
10
- Could I remove and reinstall BatMax
from one device to another ?
No.
If BatMax
is removed, the ceramic material can crack or the adhesive material
can be damaged.
It is better to purchase a new sticker and re-install it.
11
- How could I test BatMax's
performances myself ?
•
Proceed to a complete charge of your mobile phone
(without BatMax).
•
Install BatMax
on your mobile phone as described on the installation page.
•
Check the voltage and discharge time before installation
(or see how much time - battery level). Record the results.
•
Measure complete discharging time at full charging
condition (Discharge with a 3.8V, 0.5A bulb) or leave the mobile
phone on.
•
Measure time (Continuous call is better to accelerate
the test) until the mobile phone is out of power.
•
Repeat the test and measure the battery discharging
time over 7 days.
•
If you have 2 identical batteries and mobile phones.
Perform the test with the 2 batteries (w/ and w/o BatMax
installed).
•
Measure each battery over 7 days and compare the
results with and without BatMax
installed.
12
- What is BatMax's
life span ?
BatMax
is a semi-permanent and semi-active device. BatMax
material react to battery use, mobile phone operations and emitted
heat. Normally, BatMax
is fully operational during a period between 14 to 18 months
(250-350 cycles). BatMax
lifetime can be reduced by several factors (number of charging-discharging
cycles, re-installation, battery heat, etc...).
A new BatMax
sticker
must be installed on any new device and cannot be re-installed from
a previous one.
13
- Is there a difference between BatMax
battery life improvement with different batteries and devices ?
Depending
on brands, models, technology and age, batteries are different.
They use different chemical materials, electrical characteristics
and technologies, there are differences in capacity and lifetime
between batteries.
Batteries are also different depending on their status (total amount
of charge-discharge cycles), production time, age, etc...
Devices are different between brands, models, dates of production,
etc... They use different technologies and request different amounts
of power to work. For a mobile phone, the cellular network is also
variable depending on geographic location, and how well the mobile
phone is transmitting power. External temperature is also another
factor. If the temperature is low, the battery life will be reduced.
14
- BatMax
generates negative ions, what does that mean ?
Air
purifiers are are commonly known as negative ions (- ion) producer
and are
dispersed into the air throughout a room, where they interact with
airborne pollutants. Negative ions then bring particles out of the
air you breathe, while disinfecting some of the airborne micro-organisms
in the environment. High DC voltage (over 1,000
V), especially when connected to pointed metal edges or needles,
will produce ions of the same polarity as the voltage source. This
is the basis of home ionizers.
In nature, negative ions are generated by processes such as sunlight,
lightening, waves from the ocean, cosmic rays (high-energy protons)
and from waterfalls. In fact, negative ions usually come from natural
earth radioactivity and evaporating water. Lightning, thunderstorms,
and forest fires can contribute "+" and "-"
ions, but these ions are not produced under everyday conditions.
Normal fair-weather ion concentrations are 200 to 800 negative and
250 to 1,500 positive ions per cubic centimeter. Indoor levels are
usually lower. Several hours before a storm, positive ion concentration
will increase dramatically, sometimes exceeding 5,000 ions per cm3.
During a storm, negative ions increase to several thousand while
+ ions decrease, often to below 500.
In
the center of an atom is the nucleus. The nucleus contains protons
(+) and neutrons and is surrounded by electrons (-). Atoms usually
have the same number of electrons as protons. These electrons are,
however, constantly spinning around the atom and swapping places
with the electrons of surrounding atoms. Atoms that have gained
electrons from other atoms (negatively charged) form Negative
Ions and those that have lost electrons form Positive
Ions.
|
|
The
generation of negative ions is commonly divided into the
following 3 types:
1- Lenard (1915) effect, Lenard found that
when water is atomized (e.g. on impact of a water droplet),
negative and positive charges are separated. When hitting
rocks, water is broken into small particles, carrying a
negative charge into the atmosphere. This is why there are
many negative ions near waterfalls, water fountains, etc...
2- Electrically-generated negative ions:
Lightning, corona discharge, ionizers or air purifiers,
etc.
3- Mineral ores that are abundant in thermal
regions and sources. Negative ions are generated when small
amounts of radiation reacts with water particles in the
atmosphere.
In
the battery's electric process, negative ions are ions that
carry a negative electrical charge. Negative ions get their
negative charge by gaining electrons (negatively charged
particles) in a chemical reaction. Negative ions are also
called anions.
|
In
a battery, the negative ions are found at the negative pole
of the battery, also called an anode. Electrons are transferred
through the electrolyte inside the battery by the positive
ions, which take them from the anode to the cathode (or
positive pole).
As
described on the Technology/Overview
page, BatMax
generates negative ions because of the nanoceramic material
itself and by the fact that BatMax
is attached (or close) to the rechargeable battery and react
from its contact. |

15
- BatMax
can cancel my device warranty ?
No,
BatMax
is a passive product (without any electric or electronic parts),
simply installed inside the device under the battery and can be
removed anytime without any problem. BatMax
does not interact with the device functions and electronic components.
There is no device modification.
16
- Why
shouldn’t I just buy a cheap replacement battery
instead of BatMax?
BatMax
should be seen as an addition not a replacement to a battery as
it maintains and extends battery life for new and old batteries.
It is preferable to get extended use out of the original manufacturer’s
battery rather than replace it with a cheaper non-branded battery
or a reconditioned one.
